Certificate of Excellence in Management

 

 

On September 17th of 2014, our General Director MSc. Jeannette G. Cortés received, on behalf of the institution, the Certificate of Quality in Education awarded for having met the requirements of the Ibero-American Model of Excellence in Education Management. (Modelo Iberoamericano de Excelencia en la Gestión para el Sector Educativo -MIEG)
This award was presented by Dr. Miguel A. Guevara and MSc. Jeison A. Alfaro, Director of the School of Technical Education and of the Program of Management Excellence Director at Tecnologico de Costa Rica (TEC) respectively, in a dazzling act in our facilities, which was attended by MEP officials, parents, students, teachers and administrative staff from New Hope Bilingual School and from our Technical School CIT.
This well-deserved award, which places Nueva Esperanza as the first educational institution in the province of Heredia receiving it, is the culmination of a process initiated since late 2012, when the Director General, with the vision to keep the Educational Institution in first places in the country, decided to propose its candidacy to qualify for the Certificate, recognizing that through the application of the Model the best and most modern teaching and administrative practices would be developed in order to meet and exceed the expectations of students in accordance with the wishes of their parents.


The process allowed, with the effective involvement of all staff members, to instrumentalize the diagnostic results of administrative and teaching performance, improvement proposals and documentation of strategic procedures in educational, administrative and financial areas, together with update Mission and Vision based on the values ​​that have characterized the institution in his twenty years of existence; culminating in a rethinking of the educational model and a series of improvement plans, the quality Certificate


It should be noted that the essence of the diagnostic phase were surveys that were applied to different stakeholder groups as students, parents, community members, teachers and administrative staff, who gave their opinion and recommendations for the improvement of administrative and educational management through continuous improvement plans will be reflected in the quality of services received by students and parents backed by the expertise and professionalism of the staff, since the process requires that within two years, Certificate is revalidated, so we can say that this Certificate is one of many steps that make up the difficult mission of educating and motivating quality.


The process, with the effective involvement of all staff members, allowed to instrumentalize the diagnostic results of the administrative and teaching performance, the improvement proposals, and all the documentation regarding teaching, administrative, and financial strategic procedures, along with the Mission and Vision update based on the values that have characterized our institution in its 24 years of existence;  culminating with a rethinking of the Educational Model and a series of improvement plans, that hand in hand with other key elements such as the suitability of staff, meticulous attention to parents and students, leadership and management style of academic and administrative departments, the quality of suppliers of goods and services, and outreach to the community on environmental and social aspects, allow today hold and share  the Quality Certificate (Certificado de Calidad) endorsed by severe external audit, carried out by external peers from TEC, who corroborated compliance with the high standards demanded by the administrative model chosen.


It is important to note that the essence of the diagnostic phase were the surveys applied to different groups such as students, parents, community members, teachers, and administrative staff, who gave their opinion and recommendations for enhancement of administrative and educational management through continuous improvement plans, which will be reflected in the quality of services students and parents recieve. All this is supported by the personnel professionalism and expertise, due to the process requirements, so that in two years, the Certificate can be revalidated. We can say that this Certificate is one of many steps that build up the difficult and inspirational mission of quality education.
